Quantum FPV V2 Goggles
« on: October 16, 2016, 11:45:39 PM »
Guys, I have had my Quantum FPV goggles for about 2 years now and I've never used them. I just did the V2 upgrade and still can't use them. I have had a problem with these and I really want to use them but I can't get a clear picture. If I keep back from the screen a foot or so, the picture is clear but as soon as I put the goggles on the picture gets very blurry. I've tried every combination of the acrylic lenses and nothing works. Is it something I'm doing wrong? I've tried it through the camera on the new QX90 micro quad and it's really bad. I've tried it through the camera on the 180 that Randy worked on for me and it's better but still not clear. I'm pretty bummed out cause I was really looking forward to doing some FPV flying and I hate to buy a new set of goggles if I can get these to work. Any suggestions?

The camera should not make a difference to how the screen looks, its all by the lenses on the FPV kit itself ..

Do you normally wear glasses ?

Have you tried turning the lenses around the opposite way ? (although this shouldn't change anything)

Yeah, I've tried everything, I tried every combination of the acrylic lenses nothing helps. The picture is clear as long as I hold it 8 to 10 inches away but as soon as I put the goggles on it gets blurry. I saw this on Youtube so I set mine up that way. It got pretty late so I didn't get in to messing around with it tonight. I'll let you know how it works out tomorrow.
I mounted the screen to the front of the goggles instead of inside. That will give me a little more distance from my eyes.

I don't see how moving the screen further away by 1/2 and inch will make any difference ..

Will be interesting to see how this goes ..

From personal experience, I have use 4 different types of FPV & VR units and not had any problems like this ..

Have you tried any other FPV or VR unit ?
