Transmitters and Receivers / Re: Frsky Q X7

Well, I got my new radio, super fast shipping and great price from GETFPV. I only wish they had the battery, I had to order that from Banggood and as much as I like them we know how long that shipping takes. The bad news here is I couldn't find the mount to attach my phone to my tripod so I couldn't do an unboxing video but I took some pictures. Here you go:

Excellant packaging:

Nice set of decals:

Had to use 6 AA batteries until I get my rechargeable pack:

My first impressions are it feels good in my hands which was something I was concerned about but I don't like the push button switch and I don't care for the sticks, they feel a little tight to me, I may look into the replacement sticks, I've seen them for like $25.00 but first I am going to order a micro quad, probably the QX95 since I don't know how long it will be until the parts are in stock for the 110 I want to build. In all I am happy with my decision to go with this Radio, I have Randy to thank in part for that. I'll try to find my camera mount so I can put out some videos.

Multi Rotor Copters (tri, quad, hexa, etc) / Getting back into quads
« Last post by bigal1951 on May 26, 2018, 11:09:31 PM »
I sold all of my RC stuff and decided to get some inexpensive toys to replace what I had. I bought a Frsky QX-7 transmitter and an Eachine QX-95 BNF quad. When the quad arrived it had a problem right out of the box. It was all out of whack and I broke a prop and replaced it with the wrong one but the QX-95 had deeper problems. I finally decided to flash it with the latest version of Betaflight and I found a quad called the Lizard 95 or something like that on Eachines.com and it had a text file so I copied the contents of the text file and pasted and saved it to the cli interface in Betaflight. After a little fine tuning I was able to make it flyable, it still needs work but here is a couple of videos, one is the maiden and the other is after a few adjustments.

This is the maiden:

This is after a little fine tuning:

Well, I just ordered my new transmitter and battery. After a lot of research I decided to go with the Frsky Q-X7 from Getfpv. It has everything that I'll ever need and it's a Frsky which is familiar territory for me. I ordered the battery from Banggood because they had the LiPo battery with an extra pigtail to use for charging. One of the things I came across a couple of times was the fact that if you use the stock battery pack or the NiMh pack from Frsky there is a concern that since the plug for the transmitter battery is fastened to the motherboard that continuous plugging and unplugging will eventually cause the connector to break loose of the motherboard. I planned to splice a connector into the transmitter pack for charging but This battery already has a separate pigtail so taking the pack out constantly is not necessary, plus it's a LiPo so it will last longer. I want to build another 110mm quad like the one I built before because I liked the way that flew but most of the parts are back ordered so it's probably going to be a week or so till I'll be able to get them but that will give me time to play with my new toy.  :t2030:

Here is what I ordered.

Well there are lots of light poles and the grass is high. I am going to look at it today. If they cut the grass short I would try it. I flew the PT-17 there wasn't good if you over shot the landing. But I will look. Still have to balance it and set controls.
